This mixed media piece, “Which I just love,” came about while fiddling with a pile of scraps made from previous projects. This one just blossomed! It’s amazing how just a few shapes arranged and rearranged can change the overall expression and meaning of a piece. One here, one there, and so this lovely piece was born. And though my husband didn’t want to part with it, it was donated to the Art for AIDS Fundraiser, Art Grab Exhibit, In Hartford, Ct. In the 13 years it’s been running I think I’ve participated in 9 of them. And It was picked second out of 200 or so original works of art. Something we donating artists all strive for. The bird reminds me of my little cockatiel… and the fish reminds me of the unfamiliar things he always grew to love. I hope whoever owns this feels as much love as I did creating it.
